Dr Arvin TANG is the Director of the Multimedia Systems and Analytics in Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies division at ASTRI. He leads a research and development team in ASTRI focusing on developing federated learning platforms and applications, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, image processing and computer vision on multimedia applications. The well-known products are the handwritten Chinese Character Recognition Platform, Automated Document Processing System and Federated Learning for Alternative Credit Scoring. Due to privacy concerns about alternative data from data providers for machine learning, it is urged to develop technology for protecting privacy during the machine learning training process. ASTRI takes the role to establish a new ecosystem for the bank industries by leveraging non-transactional data through a self-developed federated learning platform.
