Jason Lai is the Associate Fintech Director for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. He is responsible for driving the design and development of both wholesale and retail Central Bank Digital Currency with other central banks and the banking sector.

Prior to joining the HKMA, Jason worked in HSBC, driving the bank’s global effort in digitising trade finance, including developing various blockchain-based trade finance platforms such as Contour and eTradeConnect.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
